Mizoram predominantly a Christian populated state, is towards the southern most tip of the North-Eastern states, sharing borders with Manipur, Assam, Tripura then jutting down between Myanmar and Bangladesh. The state has thick bamboo forests. Rivers run in narrow ribbons that seem to be challenging onlookers to plunge in for some adventure and excitement. The hill ranges running in north-south direction are resplendent with green vegetation throughout the year. There are a number of a hilly streams and rivers which murmur through idyllic scenario.

Champai
A bustling commercial town 192 kms from Aizwal, Champai is a good base for trekkers, especially in the spring. The rhododendrons in the surrounding hills are particularly beautiful. 5 kms away is the traditional village of Mizos, Ruantlang, where age old traditional Mizo way of life is still preserved.
Phawangpui
Known as the "Blue Mountain", it is the highest peak in Mizoram (7,100 feet above the mean sea level). The entire plateau is a garden of rhododendron skirted by beautiful trees and flowers of all hues and shapes. There are breathtaking views of the blue hazed hills and vales.
Saiha60 kms south of Aizwal, Saiha is a day's journey by bus from Lunglei which is 125 Kms away. The last lap of the journey ends with a ferry crossing at the Chhimptuipuri river.
Lake Palak
A lake ( 45 Kms from Saiha / 400 Kms from Aizwal ) is said to be the home of mythical serpent wearing a ruby crown. Ideal for angling as there are many streams with crystal clear water.
Lunglei Town
Natural landscape, cool and pleasant climate, rich flora - all make this place a beautiful Hill- Station. The remains of the British Missionaries and the first church of Mizoram are found there. Nearby is a small lake.
Phawngpui National Park
The
highest mount in the state situated at 2157 meters above sea level. With an
area of 3000 sq. meters, this park is rich in Flora and Fauna. Its' a home
for Tigers, Sambar Deer, Hoolog Gibbon, Barking Deer, Bear, Serow and birds. Kolodyne River
the biggest river in Mizoram, having its source from the eastern Myanmar after flowing through Chhimtuipui District enters in the Bay of Bengal near Myanmar.
Jungle Safari
Inhabited by swamp deer, tiger, leopard, elephant and hoolock gibbon, Mizoram can boast of a variety of wild life in the Dampa Sanctuary, established in 1976, at the north western tip of the Mizo hills. Best period to visit the sanctuary is November to March. The rivers, peaks, plains and the lakes are the treasures of Mizoram.
Dampa Wildlife Sanctuary
Located at the-junction of Bangladesh, Tripura and Mizoram , this wildlife sanctuary sprawls over 572 sq. kms of the territory. It is the home of eastern Himalayan wild animals like tigers, elephants, bears, bison and deer. It also has a wide verity of butterflies, birds and flowers and is easily accessible from Aizwal.
Twai Wildlife Sanctuary
A wild life sanctuary 140 km east of Aizwal preserving native fauna and flora that draws regulars visitors from Aizwal.
