Periyar Tiger Reserve
The Periyar tiger reserve 180 kms from Kochi, the commercial capital of Kerala, is a thickly forested wildlife sanctuary teeming with wildlife. Rare glimpses of life in a tropical forest will greet the traveller, where you may chance upon the enchanting flying squirrels, herds of elephants or even the tiger. The sighting of birds such as the Malabar pied horn bill or the crested serpent eagle or even butterflies like the Malabar tree nymph will enrich this experience.
